About Intravenous Vitamin C treatment |
Intravenous vitamin C therapy is direct infusion of vitamin C preparation into the blood stream through a vein in the arm. The vitamin C preparation is prepared by an experienced registered nurse on the day. And the treatment plan is previously written up by a medical doctor.
A standard Vitamin C infusion may consists of 30/45/60 grams of Vitamin C (depending on the doctor’s order). Additional agents such as Vitamin B complex, Vitamin B6, Magnesium, Trace Elements, glutathione and lipoic acid may also be added.
Intravenous infusion treatment can boost the immune system and helps the body to fight illness/disease. The body will not actually hold onto such large doses of Vitamin C, however the goal is to super-saturate tissues with high levels. The excess is excreted. Tissue saturation cannot be achieved without intravenous dosage due to bowel tolerance.
Occasionally B Vitamins or minerals will be omitted if a person has sensitivity to them.

How do you feel after the treatment? |
This depends how run-down your condition is in the first place – benefits are very individual. Some people feel no different, but most enjoy a renewed sense of energy. It is beneficial in helping your body deal with your illness/disease whether you feel it is working or not.

Side effects |
Large doses of Vitamin C tend to drop your blood sugar level. This is characterised by tiredness, nausea and feeling light-headed. It is therefore important to eat a good meal before your treatment. You must bring a snack with you. Any drop in sugar level is easily rectified by eating something, or by a glucose drink.
The intravenous vitamin C sometimes can cause a warm flush of the face. This is harmless and temporary.
High dose Vitamin C has been used a lot around the world with no other problems. Despite popular medical opinion, Vitamin C does not cause kidney stones.

How many treatments are recommended |
This will vary depending on your condition. An average of 1 – 10 treatments is usually recommended. Each infusion takes from 1-2 hours. All equipment is used straight from the sterile packet, and discarded after use.
